About

Talk2Croydon is a tool to help the people of Croydon influence local decisions and raise issues they care about within the borough. It allows the local community to talk to the local public services without attending meetings or events, helps people get involved in the decisions which affect their lives, and makes it easier for local activists and community groups to talk to the public services and each other.

Talk2Croydon is run in partnership by:

  • Croydon Voluntary Action (CVA) (www.cvalive.org.uk)
  • London Borough of Croydon (www.croydon.gov.uk)
  • Croydon Primary Care Trust (PCT) (www.croydon.nhs.uk)

CVA is the lead and accountable organisation, but all three partners jointly act as administrators for Talk2Croydon.

What you can do here

Anyone can read the public discussions and polls about issues raised by the local community, see events and meetings, and find out more about local people and organisations. There are also lots of web links and documents to explore.

To add content to the site, you need to register with us. Once registered you can post comments, get involved in discussions and polls, and e-mail other users directly, and create your own buzzes and discussions.

Some users also act as organisers on behalf of other organisations, and they can create events, polls and resources. [Become an organiser]

What you can’t do here

Talk2Croydon is here to support community engagement and decision-making. It is not for general events, service information or details of Croydon’s other organisations.

I heartily agree with Gustav Wind on the subject of East Croydon development. I think it's a great shame that Council has favoured the Arena option. The other option would preserve both the Warehouse Theatre and the Fairfield Halls. I can see no cultural benefit in having a 12,500 seat Arena. It will stage only the lowbrow in entertainment and will not enhance the image of Croydon one little bit.

Just want to register my feelings on the new redevelopment of the land behind East Croydon station. I much prefer the use of land in the scheme NOT approved by the Council, in particular because it concentrates on teh preservation of the Warehouse Theatre which is tried and tested, rather than the provision of an arena which is not. The present Croydon Arena which is in a lamentable state could do with total refurbishment; then we could have both.
