Some information about how the site works
We have created this site to provide a basic democratic tool. The essential features allow people to define projects (of some kind) and then allow other people to express their support.
We have created two types of "projects", currently called "Issues" and "Initiatives". (The actual names may still need a bit of work, and we would be happy with some suggestions.) In essence however, the difference between the two types of project is as follows: "Issues" are discussions or campaigns which can be created by everyone. , "initiatives" are discussion groups, forums or meetings (which can be virtual as well as face-to-face), the actual way a discussion or consultation takes place.
