Croydon Summer Uni Art Exhibition
The Croydon Summer Uni Art Exhibition was held at Fairfield Halls Croydon, in the Sun-Lounge Area from Tuesday 26th – Saturday 30th Aug 2008.
Art work was exhibited by students who attended the Creative Multimedia and Trash Fashion courses funded by Croydon Summer Uni. The exhibition was a mixture of photography and fashion items designed and created by young people aged 11-19.
The Creative Multimedia course enabled young people to learn the skills needed to take professional pictures, and think about their surroundings in a new and engaging way. Young people learnt the technical skills of digital and film photography including manual aperture and shutter speed control, portfolio project planning, editing using Photoshop and the printing process for digital photos.
In the Trash Fashion course young people participated in group work sessions covering a range of subjects such as bullying, anger management, and drug misuse, sexual health, gangs and street crime. Their creative work is an expression of how the above subjects made an impact upon their lives.
Croydon Summer Uni offered FREE summer courses to young people aged 8-25 in July-August 2008 for more info please visit www.summerunilondon.org
