SLFQP is the premier forum for freight issues within the South London area.
Its aim is to develop a common understanding of freight transport issues among the membership and promote constructive solutions, which reconcile the need for access to goods and services with local environmental, social and safety concerns.
SLFQP brings together representatives from eight London Boroughs (of which Croydon is the Lead Borough), Transport for London, Freight Transport Association, Road Haulage Association, Chambers of Commerce and other stakeholders with a specific interest in the freight transport sector.
SLFQP carries out an annual programme of work, including feasibility studies into issues such as consolidation centres and increased use of night-time deliveries, as well as carrying out business surveys and pilot projects, aimed at improving the way that freight transport works within South London.
SLFQP is funded by the TfL Freight Unit (www.tfl.gov.uk/freight) and managed on behalf of its members by Transport & Travel Research Ltd, under contract to Croydon Council.
