HAVE YOUR SAY ON THE FUTURE OF CENTRAL CROYDONResidents are being invited to put forward their views on the future development of the town centre as part of a consultation to devise a new area action plan. The consultation document, Croydon Metropolitan Centre Area Action Plan (CMC AAP) Issues & Options Report, highlights the issues affecting central Croydon and its future development. Feedback and opinions received on it will be used to formulate the final CMC AAP, which will become a statutory planning document. The final plan will provide a detailed blueprint including detailed land-use policies and proposals that could act as catalysts for the economic, social, cultural and environmental regeneration of the town centre. It will provide a comprehensive framework for all planning development and investment decisions in and around central Croydon for the next 15 to 20 years. Background work on the plan has already been carried out, including a series of workshops organised with world-renowned architect Will Alsop, to draw up a new vision for central Croydon. These ideas have been fed into the report which is now out for consultation. Residents are able to submit their comments on the report until 31st March Comments can be made online by signing up to the LDF Consultee Database. Visit www.croydon.gov.uk/doitonline and search under L for LDF consultee database link. For more information email LDF@croydon.gov.uk or call 020 8407 1385. Councillor Chris Wright, cabinet member for planning said: “This consultation gives people a direct say into the future development of their town centre so it is important that residents take the opportunity to comment.”
