What impact might Talk2Croydon have?

People will only want to get involved if they think that what they say has some impact on society. Does the Council take notice? What has Talk2Croydon ever achieved? Is it merely a forum for people to let off steam? What's it's point? If one point of it is to enable people to link up with others of like mind, it needs wider promulgation. If it's there to change anything, it needs some way of telling people what it has achieved, a trumpet-blowing page if you will ... So to get more people involved, Tal2Croydon needs to have a profile-raising exercise complete with success stories.

Some interesting ideas there Andy. Talk2Croydon is a tool for all to use to get involved in local issues in arange of ways. It's now 10 months old and really starting to roll. We are really interested to see how its being used and what people think. We have more than 3000 people visiting the site and lots of people are getting engaged in debates and joining face to face discussions as a result of it. There are some groups using it to reach people; CROCUS - the lesbian, gay, bisexual network has compiled an online survey to which they are getting lots of responses; some people are using it to signpost to face to face activity like the Community Network - we now have 157 online members.
