Were we not all children once? The voice of the child has to be at the heart of decision making on children's issues - as the disability movement used to say - 'nothing about us - without us'. Sure parents and carers have got the right for input but if you don't include the kids then your gonna alientate them. Andrew

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)states in article 12:, Children have the right to an opinion and for it to be listened to and taken seriously.....Children and young people aged 5 - 13 are the 'experts' in what matters to them! Kids are more than capable of giving their views on things that matter most like school, play and health! Through Xpress' work....kids are actively influencing the decisions that are made around their services in Croydon, directly inputting into the Children and Young People's Plan. Adults need to trust young people to have a voice!
